Resources for Fantasy Writers
A handy-dandy chart I made for fantasy writers. Now I never want to hear that Character X galloped all night and covered 500 miles again. The only way you're going to cover 500 miles in 8 hours with a horse is if that horse is on an airplane. I think a large part of this problem is that people honestly don't know how big continents are on Earth, so they don't know how big or small their off-world continents are, but you're probably not going to make it from one coast to another in one day unless your magical kingdom is the size of England. And maybe not even then.
